Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter as well as mixed martial artist who is currently fighting at flyweight in the UFC. She is also the elder sister of former UFC Flyweight champ and the fellow UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her journey into combat sports in the form of an Muay Thai kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut in her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals with a unanimous verdict. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007, a medal of bronze in 2008 and then a gold in 2011. Then she was named IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia was a professional who started her professional journey in 2003, was crowned in 2012 and the 2016 World Lion Fight Lightweight Champion. It was also the WMC World Championships were staged in 2016, and she took home the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina was most recently seen battling Isa TIDBLAD Keskikangas at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Schevchenko set her professional MMA records in 2002 when she fought Anara Bazanova in the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She was victorious with a TKO at the end of round 2 and the two subsequent matches were held in WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko took a short absence from MMA and focused on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa with a unanimous vote after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She joined the Dana White Contender Series 2018 following her departure from the competition. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina knocked out Nievera using her superior striking abilities at the end of the fight by using knees on the body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended following this victory. Antonina Shychenko debuted for the UFC at the Heavy Hitters event of TUF finals, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko won the fight with a unanimous decision. She losing her following fight to Roxanne Modafferi by split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the defeat and beat Lucie Pudddilova at UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission during the second round. This fight earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko was a 1-2 winner during her subsequent three bouts, defeating Ariane Lipski, and then losing to Katlyn Chookagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina lost to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO in the second round of UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
