Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond hair and an ebullient personality, explains how to prepare restaurant-style meals in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of the top restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy, and battled on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English degree and a Communications certificate in Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student of The Culinary Institute of America she declares. It was hard to study, do or work enough. After graduating Chef Burrell was in Italy for a whole year studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate the Italian way of life and its culture which has had an impression on her perception of food. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve children's lives who are facing difficulties. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador who promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She has been a frequent speaker at conferences and travels throughout the United States to mentor others in her role. Anne has, through her whole experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's a pleasure to be in a position to share this passion for the food industry with people.
